The Almazov Foundation of North America

  The Alzamov Foundation has been in existence for four years.

 

• We have obtained our official status as a 501 (3) (c) Public Charity from the IRS and have assembled a remarkable board of directors.

 

• The foundation has sponsored six clinical teaching missions to Northwest Russia and three administrative trips to coordinate mentoring sites. We have established solid mentoring relationships with the regional hospital in Petrozavodsk, the Mariinsky Hospital, the Military Academy hospital and the Pavlov University Medical hospital in Petersburg.

 

• We have welcomed 38 young visiting Russian clinicians to Yale New Haven Hospital and two to the Ochsner clinic in new Orleans for one to two month mentored clinical rotations in heart surgery, cardiac anesthesiology, interventional and diagnostic cardiology.

 

• We have established cooperative relationships with the University of Zurich, the Hospital zum Park, Zurich, Switzerland and the Ochsner Clinic, New Orleans to advance our mission.

 

• The foundation recently received a seed grant from the Edwards Lifesciences Fund and raised $10,000 from private contributors.

 

• We have established close working relationships with the EurAsian Heart foundation based in Zurich, and the Healthy Heart Foundation (Здоровый Фонд Сердца) in St. Petersburg, Russia.
