Michael Dewar MD, President

Dr. Dewar is an Assistant professor of cardiac surgery at the  Yale University School of Medicine. He serves as an Attending cardiac surgeon at Yale-New Haven Hospital and Bridgeport Hospital. He was named a founding member of the Board of Directors of the Healthy Heart foundation in St. Petersburg, Russia. His surgical training at Mc Gill qualified him as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, Canada and Fellow of the American College of Surgery. Dr Dewar has published frequently and has worked in Northwest Russia as a surgical consultant since 1995.

Jamie Gerber MD, Secretary

Dr. Gerber is an Associate Clinical Professor of Cardiology in the Yale School of Medicine, A Fellow of the American Cardiology of Cardiology, he has traveled and worked extensively in Northwest Russia. At Yale New Haven Hospital Dr Gerber serves as Co-Director of Outpatient Research with an established record as investigator in the fields of anticoagulation management, atrial fibrillation, and new treatments of high cholesterol. Novel blood thinner agents and new classes of medication for treatment of elevated lipids are currently being explored. In the area of Health Economics, Dr Gerber supervises the CHF Readmission Reduction program, establishing more efficient integrated models of care in the community to ensure best practices, and improve the efficiency of the health care system.

Peter N. Herbert MD

Peter Herbert MD, serves as the Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs at Yale New Haven Health Services Corporation (YNHHS). Dr. Herbert serves as Chief of Staff and Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs at Yale-New Haven Hospital Inc. Since 1991, he has been a clinical professor of medicine at Yale and until 1999 was chief of medicine at the Hospital of St. Raphael in New Haven. He served as the Chief of the clinical service at the National Heart, Lung & Blood Institute in Bethesda, Md., until 1977, when he became a professor of medicine at Brown University. He serves as Trustee of Yale-New Haven Hospital. He is widely published and is a member of several professional societies, including the American College of Physicians (Fellow) and the American Society of Clinical Investigation. Dr. Herbert is a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and the Yale University School of Medicine.

Robert McNamara MD MHS

Associate Professor of Medicine (Cardiology) Yale School of Medicine. Dr. McNamara serves as chief of echocardiography imaging at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He has extensive international experience having served on projects in Rwanda, Sweden and the United Kingdom. Current projects include evaluating differences in the treatment and outcome of patients with myocardial infarction among the US, the UK, and Sweden, designing ways to evaluate hospital performance in treating patients with acute myocardial infarction through use of the electronic health record, and establishing quality performance standards for noninvasive cardiac imaging.

Maria Prokudina MD

Maria Nicholaiovich Prokudina MD serves as President of The Healthy Heart foundation of St. Petersburg, Russia. This foundation works to improve the medical formation of young cardiologists and cardiac surgeons in Northwest Russia. She is a full professor of Cardiology at The Federal Institute of Heart, Blood and Endocrinology in St. Petersburg. She presents frequently at International symposiums on stress echocardiography.
